Comments Off on 50th Anniversary of the publication of my first book
This year, 2023, marks the 50th anniversary of the publication of my first book, Vancouver Island Railroads. The first edition was published by the late Donald Duke of Golden West Books in California. In those days, BC’s publishing industry was far less developed than it is today, and there wasn’t a local publisher who could take on a specialty book like mine at that time. Happily that changed soon when Dick Morriss took over Sono Nis Press, with whom I worked with for many decades and after Dick passed away I had the pleasure of continuing to work with his daughter Diane who took over the publishing business.
Sono Nis published a second edition of Vancouver Island Railroads in 1997 in both hardcover and softcover, and it went through several printings.
